Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is an antihistamine.
Definition of an antihistamine: When your body is exposed to allergens, it releases histamines. Histamines attach to the cells in your body and cause them to swell and leak fluid. This can cause itching, sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes. Antihistamines prevent histamines from attaching to your cells and causing symptoms.
While most of you know Benadryl is great for symptoms of the common cold, like sneezing and runny nose, I'll share a few more uses with you:
1. runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes (hay fever, cold)
2. drainage down back of throat (itchy throat)
3. itchy eyes or nose
4. itching due to bug bites, chicken pox, poison ivy etc
5. allergic reaction to medication, food etc
6. cough
7. nausea
8. dizziness due to motion sickness
9. relaxation or insomnia
Benadryl does have a few more uses: Parkinson's Disease and to counter act side effects of some anti-psychotic drugs.
The main side effect of Benadryl (and benefit sometimes) is the drowsiness it can cause. Always use caution with medications and consult your health professional.

Be. Act. Play ... Coy ~ Haircare For Real Women
I want to tell you about Coy Hair and a couple of their products I use. Coy Hair was created by 2 friends who saw a need for a straightforward, high-quality, functional and efficient hair care line. They make Coy for real women like us who do their own hair, every morning. (I do wish I had someone come over every day and style my hair for me!)
Coy Hair products are simple and straightforward, with singular names such as: Nourish, Lift, Prime, Kink and Finish that tell you what they do. The directions for use on the bottles are fun. The Build Shampoo says: Seriously? It's shampoo ~ you know what to do. Wet hair, wash hair, rinse and do it again if you want. (LOL)
I wash, blow dry and flat iron my hair daily, so I like using a hair protectant like Prime. It guards your hair from the dangers of becoming beautiful- blow dryers, curling irons and flat irons. You spray it on damp hair and style. It protects from the heat and adds hold and shine to your style; it has a nice smell, too.
Transform dull or flyaway hair with Polish Finishing Serum. Anyone and everyone should use this product as their finishing touch. Adds luster and shine and smooths the hair. Use a small amount of serum, a little goes a long way. I put a few drops in my hands, rub together and distribute mostly to my ends.

Steppin' Out ... With Violent Lips
Steppin' out, ladies? Good ;-)
These AMAZING and very cool lip tattoos will make you the star of the club ... and/or the bedroom.
They are from VIOLENT LIPS and they're terrific ... I wore a "set" to a club recently and was constantly asked about them or complimented by girls and guys alike. They are dramatic, come in a HUGE variety of colors and designs, and best of all what might seem like a complicated application to your lips is made easy by a video on their site.
These are just so much FUN for a special event, or just some fun period. By the way, they're even better with (and will withstand) a gloss for extra shine, and are very kissably soft. I wore mine 4 hours with eating and drinking beverages, and they lasted!

I'll Drink to That
Dr. Richard A. Baxter, MD, plastic surgeon and author of Age Gets Better with Wine, said drinking a glass of red wine a day is the single most important thing you can do besides nonsmoking, from an anti-aging pont of view. But he cautions you can have too much of a good thing. He recommends one glass a day for women and two glasses a day for men. Drinking more than recommended can have the opposite effect on your appearance and health.
A glass a day and your skin will glow. As anti-aging advice, this is as good as it gets.
Cheers,
Amy

COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor Review
I've discovered a must have drugstore lipstick- LipPerfection by COVERGIRL. This creamy formula comes in 44 bright, gorgeous shades. There are 4 shade families to choose from, so it should be easy to find your perfect color.
The COVERGIRL website states their lipcolor is enriched with a silk moisturizing complex that helps sustain moisture levels and helps create soft, smooth lips in just 7 days. I have worn this lipstick for a couple of months now and notice how smooth my lips are while wearing it. I have very dry lips but this formula does not dry my lips. Their website features a colormatch quiz to find your best shades. Shade families are: Pinks to Roses, Lilacs/Mauves/Burgandies, Nudes/Corals/Reds and Brown.
These lipsticks are super pigmented, very moisturizing and can leave a stain on the lips. I like the stain, as you still have color on your lips after the lipstick has worn off. Just remember when putting on your lipstick, you'll be commited to that color most of the day.
The packaging is modern and sleek. Color names & numbers are easy to read on bottom of tube. These lipsticks are available from most drugstores and mass merchandisers and the price point is nice at around $6.50. I would recommend LipPerfection and purchase them again.
I own all of these shown above, in this color order: Spellbound, Soulmate, Divine and Enchantress.
You can view them here at Lip Perfection

Body Sugaring. The New Smooth
Alexandria Professional has developed a unique process for the removal of unwanted body and facial hair. It is called "advanced body sugaring," and their classes/training/certification & products site is HERE
What is the difference between waxing and sugaring?
1. Waxing products for legs, faces and bodies adhere to skin cells. Wax products are made of resins which adhere to skin cells. Wax sticks to any surface it is applied to, pulling it away cause unwarranted discomfort. Sugaring products never adhere to live skin cells on legs, face or body. When it is removed, it only gently exfoliates dead skin cells, leaving behind freshened skin.
2. When waxing legs and bodies, you remove the hair against the natural direction of growth. Waxing faces, legs or other areas pulls hair against its natural direction of growth causing undue levels of pain. With Alexandria Professional's sugaring method, you only remove the hair in the natural direction of the hair growth.
These 2 facts alone make a world of difference in your comfort level.

Alexandria Professional Sugaring Paste is all natural. It's ingredients are sugar, water and lemon. That's it. You can even eat it (I have tasted it!).
Waxing requires hot wax and risks burning sensitive areas. Sugaring is done at body temperature. Sugaring treatment adheres to the hair, not the skin, and lubricates the root providing easier removal from the follicle.
Sugaring extracts all hair colors and textures, eliminates ingrown hairs, prevents new ingrown hairs and improves skin tone and texture. Sugaring will not burn the skin, promote cross contamination or damage the dermal cells.
I have used this method of hair removal for 10 years. I have had several body parts "sugared" and have even served as a teacher's model for students to practice their technique. Body sugaring is quick, mostly painless and great for the bikini area. Everyone wants to be hair-free and smooth during the summer months (I like it year round).
