HARVEST SPICE by PHILOSOPHY

Harvest Spice 3-in-1 formula.....the best smelling multitasker for FALL.

harvest spice
Philosophy has the best scents and I especially love the seasonal ones. Fall scents are my favorite, such as pumpkin, cinnamon and clove.

Harvest Spice is described as a playful blend of pumpkin and orange. I smell more pumpkin than orange, but love citrus scents, too.

This 3-in-1 formula works as a moisturizing shower gel, bubble bath and shampoo. I have never used as a shampoo though.

I love using this delicious Fall scented shower gel. You can purchase it and other great smelling products here:

Happy Halloween,

Amy

DIY PUMPKIN FACE MASQUE MOTW

I love Fall and everything pumpkin (except pumpkin pie!) Pumpkins are an excellent source of antioxidants, vitamins A & E and zinc. These ingredients heal, soothe and moisturize the skin.

2 tsp canned pumpkin
1/2 tsp honey (humectant)
1/4 tsp milk (you may use heavy cream for dry skin)

Combine ingredients and mix gently. Apply to face- avoiding eye area, leave on 10-15 minutes and rinse well with warm water. Apply appropriate moisturizer for your skin type.

Ahhhhh Fall,

amy :)

HEALTH TIP: AVOIDING POLLEN

I suffer from seasonal allergies, ragweed in particular. This week my town's pollen count has been extremely high and I have been miserable. Yesterday alone I used 2 boxes of Puffs!

Here is a tip to help manage pollen: Take a shower and wash your hair before going to bed every night.

You won't be sleeping with pollen all over your pillow and should have diminished allergy symptoms.

Bless you,
Amy

ACTIFIRM ACTILIFT FIRMING MASK

I love to use facial masques, epecially homemade ones. Recently I started featuring a Masque of the Week {MOTW} on this blog. The Actifirm Actilift Firming Mask does just what is says ~FIRMS. And the results are immediate and awesome.

The Actilift Firming Mask is made with the exclusive Actipeptide mushroom extract, which helps to improve the appearance of sagging, aging skin in minutes. This mask lifts, tightens and firms while also hydrating, protecting and nourishing your skin. Actilift Firming Mask contains many powerful antioxidants and botanical extracts that protect and brighten the skin. Pure orange and grapefruit peels give this mask a light citrus scent. The mask adds luster to your skin as well as tightens. You can use the Actilift Firming Mask on your face, neck and decollete area.

To use: Apply about a quarter size of product in a thin layer to very damp face. Apply using an upward motion. Let dry and wash off in 8- 10 minutes.

I first applied the mask to only one side of my face so I could see it working. As the mask began to dry, my face became taut and tight, almost freakishly so! I rinsed it off after the allotted time and compared. One side of my face was definitely firmer, epecially around my chin and jawline. I had to do the other side of my face so it could be tight and toned, too! Didn't want to look lopsided, ya know!

This mask would be great to use before going to a big event, when you want to look your very best. I use it a couple of times a week to maintain firmness. The Actilift Firming Mask is another great product in the Actifirm skincare line.

Enjoy your bright, tight skin :)

Emmys 2011 Best Dressed

I love watching the award shows to see what the stars are wearing. This past Sunday I watched the Emmys and the red carpet pre-show. I like the Emmys more than the Academy Awards, because I've actually seen most of these shows!
The Emmys are TV's biggest night and there were some rockin' fashions. I noticed the color red was prominent on the red carpet as were plunging necklines.
Here are some of my favorite looks from the Emmys.

Sofia Vergara in a coral gown by Vera Wang

Christina Hendricks in Johanna Johnson

Martha Plimpton in a sparkly crimson gown

Kaley Cuoco in a black Romona Keveza tulle dress

Nina Dobrev Emmys
Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan

Gwyneth Paltrow bared her midriff in Pucci

I really liked Gwyneth's dress, but others did not feel the same. What was your favorite Emmys look?
Please share with me.

TRANSITION INTO FALL

I changed my hair color a few weeks ago. It had been platinum blonde for summer. Now it's a warm golden blonde with lots of copper low lights.

I changed my purse last week. I was carrying a Coach bag with fuchsia leather trim. I switched to a brand new bronze croco embossed bag.

I changed my nail polish last night. It's a plummy grape shade.

What have you done to transition into Fall?

CLEAR REPAIR by GIA SKINCARE

One of my best twiiter friends Gia of @giaskincare has a fab skincare line. I use many of her products and have written about them before.

  • Tonight I used this > clear repair and thought I would pass along.

Clear Repair is a spot treatment for blemshes. Yes, I still get pimples, bumps or blemishes. :(
This drying lotion reduces inflammation and can shrink blemishes over night. You can use Clear Repair for chest and back acne and it takes the itch out of bug bites, too!

To use: Before bed, after cleansing, apply a dab of Clear Repair with a q-tip. Let dry and wash off in the morning. Do NOT shake bottle and apply only the pink sediment.

You may purchase any of Gia's products here: giaskincare.com
